Judith Brown Jenkins is a former educator and currently a Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Education from Virginia State University. She received a Master of Arts in Psychology-Health and Wellness from University of the Rockies (now the University of Arizona Global Campus) and most recently a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Capella University.
After twenty years as a middle and high-school educator, which included several years teaching in alternative education and a residential treatment facility serving youth in treatment for substance abuse, sexual reactivity, and other extreme behaviors, Judith’s passion for “bridging the gap” between students and family systems of various needs and circumstances formed. Judith has also worked in community mental health as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee and Assistant Program Director for mental health skill building services.
Judith is especially interested in serving family systems of individuals who often fall through the cracks of mental health care and education. She takes a systemic approach to treatment, considering intergenerational patterns that lend to distress and conflict between family members in order to improve their systems of interactions. Judith offers therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
